Volunteers Needed to help with weekly cleaning of the church. If you would like to participate in this endeavor there is a signup sheet in the hallway.  Otherwise please contact the church office at 402-371-0814. Your participation will be greatly appreciated.

The Board of Trustees 

The Wednesday Evening Ladies Bible Study is held Wednesdays at 6:30 pm.  Everyone is welcome to join.

Bible Class every Sunday at 9:15 AM in the conference room.  Everyone is welcome to join.

The Primetime Pitchers will meet on October 13th, at Fountain Point at 2:00 PM.  Everyone is welcome.

The quarterly voter’s meeting will be held on Sunday October 18th after the worship service.  The main topic will be the election of church officers.  Please make every effort to attend.  Thank you.

Because of the war and the ill-ease created from it, I decided to move the date of this tour.

Join Pastor Michael Awe in this once in a lifetime journey to the Holy Land.  Here we will see the Bible come alive with the names and events that we have heard all of our lives.  Dare I say that we will enjoy awe-inspiring places of interest like the Mount of Olives, the Garden of Gethsemane, and Mt. Zion, to name a few.  We will also enjoy the Sea of Galilee, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Jericho, and Jerusalem.  The dates for this wonderful tour are 30 November – 9 December 2027.  We will be departing from and arriving back at the Omaha airport.  The price for this tour, which includes transportation, tours, hotels, and most meals is $4999 per person based on double occupancy.  If you would like to receive a brochure, please contact Pastor Awe at the1revma@gmail.com of call him at 531.218.5793.

The Big Mission Event is hosted by Servants of the Savior from Christ Lutheran Church, Norfolk.  It will be held on Sunday, November 8, at Divots Conference Center, Norfolk.  The social hour will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a buffet dinner served at 6:00 p.m.  LCMS Mission Counselor Gary Thies and his associate, Rev. Steve Schulz will serve as presenters for the evening.  Tickets are available for a cost of $70 per person from Christ Lutheran Church, 605 South 5th Street, Norfolk (371-1210).  Please contact Rita Foxhoven for tickets.  No tickets will be sold at the door.

Minutes of the Ladies Aid meetings will be available in the back of the church by the mail boxes. 

LHNE NEEDS YOU!

We’re looking for dependable, caring individuals to join our substitute teacher list. Your help makes a real difference in keeping our classrooms covered and our students learning when teachers are away. Have your Nebraska Substitute Teaching Certificate? We’d love to have you on our team! Please bring your substitute certificate to the LHNE Office to get signed up. Our need is ongoing, so don’t wait to join!

2025-2026 LHNE Eagle cards are now available from the LHNE office or an LHNE student. Cost is only $10 for a lot of great local business deals.

CRAFT SHOW

There will be a craft show at LHNE on Saturday, November 7th, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Please reach out to Linda Jones at 2cows1@gmail.com with any craft show questions.

UPCOMING EVENTS –

Remember to call the church office if you are hospitalized or having surgery so Pastor can visit you.  Your or a family memeber must contact us.  Faith Regional is not able to contact each of the local churches about their members being hospitalized.  Also, hearing about your hospitilization from others and not from you or family, makes it hard for Pastor to visit due to HIPPA restrictions.

Mailboxes for each member family of Mt. Olive are now in use.  The mailboxes will have newsletters and other church related information placed into them.  You will be able to access them any time you are at church.  Newsletters will only be mailed out to those who are shut-ins.  All other memebers will have newsletters and information put into their mailboxes.

One of the priviledges of being a Christian is to pray.  You are welcome to participate in the Mt. Olive Prayer Chain.  If you would like to participate, please contact Tim Kirschner and/or Rita Foxhoven, and/or the church office.  Please remember, in order maintain HIPPA requirements, only immediate family members of the individual being prayed for will be permitted to initiate a prayer chain request.

Offerings will still be gathered in the back of the church as you enter or leave.  They may be placed in the wooden Mt. Olive cart.  We continue encouraging members to give to the Lord and the church through automatic bank draft, mailing in your give, or dropping off your offerings at the office.

There are from time to time special financial needs of members of our congregation, especially during this time of year.  If you would be interested in being an "Angel" to these members who are in need, please designate a gift in your offering to the "The Angel Fund."  Those who are in need are held in strict confidence.  The Elders will facilitate the gifts of the "Angels" and those members in need of these blessings.  Thank you for considering blessing those in our congregation who may be experiencing a difficulty.

Mt. Olive Members please remember that when you change your address, change your marital status, change phone numbers, or change anything about yourself you need to contact the church office.  Please take the time to call the church office when the above things happen so we may have the correct information in your record.

Care for God's earth by recycling at Lutheran High Northeast.  There will be paper recycling bags at the school available for you to pick up.  Fill the bags with recycled paper and return to the Green Fiber bins at the school.

Keep buying Scrip to help support LHNE!  Remember, LHNE as Scrip for groceries, gas, prescriptions, clothing, dining out, home improvements, etc.  It's exciting to see Scrip working for LHNE and their families.  Remember to buy Scrip weekdays at Lutheran High Northeast, 2010 N 37th, 7:45AM - 3:30PM or at the back of the church here at Mount Olive after worship services.
