The entire LHNE student body and the teachers were able to participate in an all-school service day on October 20th.  We had the opportunity to help at Christ Lutheran School, Orphan Grain Train, Mercy Meals, King’s Kids, Good Neighbors of Norfolk, Puppy Love, the Norfolk Rescue Mission, and Smiles, Inc.  Some students also stayed at LHNE and helped deep clean the facility.  It was a great day to get out of the classroom and help others.

Several LHNE students will be heading to the Henry Doorly Zoo next week to expand their animal knowledge, improve their photographic techniques, and have fun.  Twenty-two students in the Zoology, Animal Science, and Photography classes will be headed to the zoo on November 10th with an opportunity to apply information they are learning in class to real life.

LHNE students are finishing up on their fruit sales to raise money to attend State Convention this Spring.  If you were hoping to order fruit and have not yet been asked, please contact LHNE and we can get you in touch with a member.

2 Ways to Support CLS!

Casey’s: You can sign up for the Casey’s Rewards app.  You may donate your rewards to Christ Lutheran school.  For more information go to

Box Tops

Many are familiar with Box Tops for Education, those labels found on various grocery items.  Now, you can download the “Box Tops for Education” app on your phone that can be scanned at the check-out.  As long as you link your account to Christ Lutheran School, we will reap the benefits of everyday items you purchase normally.  Our last check from General Mills was over $650!  Please consider downloading the app to help CLS out!

Remember to call the church office if you are hospitalized or having surgery so Pastor can visit you.  Your or a family memeber must contact us.  Faith Regional is not able to contact each of the local churches about their members being hospitalized.  Also, hearing about your hospitilization from others and not from you or family, makes it hard for Pastor to visit due to HIPPA restrictions.

Join the Prayer Chain

One of the priviledges of being a Christian is to pray.  You are welcome to participate in the Mt. Olive Prayer Chain.  If you would like to participate, please contact Tim Kirschner.

Our Gifts to the Lord

Offerings will still be gathered in the back of the church as you enter or leave.  They may be placed in the wooden Mt. Olive cart.  We continue encouraging members to give to the Lord and the church through automatic bank draft, mailing in your give, or dropping off your offerings at the office.

Would you like to be an "Angel"?

There are from time to time special financial needs of members of our congregation, especially during this time of year.  If you would be interested in being an "Angel" to these members who are in need, please designate a gift in your offering to the "The Angel Fund."  Those who are in need are held in strict confidence.  The Elders will facilitate the gifts of the "Angels" and those members in need of these blessings.  Thank you for considering blessing those in our congregation who may be experiencing a difficulty.

Shepherd's Staff

Mt. Olive Members please remember that when you change your address, change your marital status, change phone numbers, or change anything about yourself you need to contact the church office.  Please take the time to call the church office when the above things happen so we may have the correct information in your record.
